KOPA Rez Radio 91.3

KOPA Rez Radio 91.3

Pala Reservation rock, talk and reggae

The only tribally owned full service radio station in Southern California. Rez Radio was created after the 2007 Rice and Poomacha Fires in north San Diego County. At the time, San Diego media was too busy covering other fires closer to San Diego. North County was left without any live local coverage of what to do and where to evacuate. Alhough it was clear to return just a few hours later. Many Pala residents didn’t get the word until many days later. Local emergency information was needed. The tribe applied for and got approval for a new Class A FM station, which went on the air in 2010 as KOPA. That was changed in 2018 to San Diego heritage call letters, KPRI ... now standing for Kupa Pala Rez Indians. 91.3 FM can be heard in the San Luis Rey River valley.
